Fun story: in high school, my 9th grade programming class taught Excel first specifically to try to break Boy Wonders Who’d Been Programming Since They Were Three of their preconceptions about Real Programming.
It didn’t work so much on them, but it worked on me.

Just helped a coworker with an Excel question. When I fixed his first problem, I realized he was planning to do each month & year separately. I showed him how to group by year and month. Got a loud “Good God woman!” He is very happy now.
